Amid concern for the future of Israel, we have established the Israel Independence Fund (IIF) to fortify Israel’s standing as the fulfillment of Jewish national aspirations and the center of world Jewry. This non-political, philanthropic endeavor will be an important vehicle in the revival of the Zionist spirit in Israel. The IIF will secure and organize the necessary philanthropic support for projects and institutions that cherish the destiny of the Jewish people in Israel. We strive to support those organizations that are dedicated to fulfilling the vision of a Jewish state. In order to realize this ambition, these IIF sponsored organizations will raise media awareness of the relevance of Jewish and Zionist tradition, advocate on behalf of the protection of the Jewish, Zionist and democratic character of the State of Israel and will support like-minded grass roots organizations and movements both in Israel and in the Diaspora.

Nearly 60 years after its founding, the State of Israel is at a crossroads. The future of the Jewish and Zionist ethos of the country, the underlying purpose of its existence, is far from certain. Though the values of Jewish tradition, community and military service and family life are still alive and well, their emphasis in the lives of Jewish Israeli youth is beginning to wane. With a school curriculum that focuses less and less on traditional Jewish values and the continued proliferation of entertainers, educators and other influential figures lacking a measure of national-awareness, the gradual erosion of the Jewish and Zionist character of the State of Israel is all but guaranteed.

Therefore, we are excited, motivated and inspired by the large number of organizations that are successfully working to reverse these trends. It is our aim to enlist supporters across the world to help these groups with their efforts that we feel are crucial to Israel’s future.
